Welcome to Malmö – the fourth most diverse city in the world

We love Malmö, and we bet you will too

We’re proud to be placed right in the heart of Malmö, the capital of falafels and bicycling. Malmö is the fourth most international city in the world, after London, New York and Washington DC, and has easy access to the rest of the world through Kastrup airport, located just 30 minutes away.

We’re feeling pretty confident when we say that Malmö is kinder than most cities - it's a global city captured in a small, friendly town. People here love to help other people out, and that's just one of the many reasons why we love Malmö, and think that you will, too.

Our favorite malmö facts:

  • Malmö is represented by citizens from 171 of the 193 countries recognised by the United Nations
  • Malmö was first mentioned as a city in 1275 and received its coat of arms in 1437
  • 70% of the city’s approximately 135 500 households are small households with one or two people
  • More than 250 million people have travelled across the bridge that connects Malmö to Copenhagen since it opened in July 2000
  • It’s no more than 10 kilometres from the Malmö city centre to the city boundary, and there are 490 kilometres of cycle paths within the city
