Meet Minc - Dennis Åström

Have you met our business coach Dennis Åström? Having previously worked at Almi and Drivhuset, we welcomed Dennis into the Minc Team this autumn. Make sure to book this pasta-loving superstar for a meeting!

Tell us a bit about yourself - who are you and what do you do here at Minc?
I’m 33 year old, originally from Skåne. I've been lost in Småland (home of Swedish entrepreneurship) for 11 years, but recently found my way back to Skåne where I’m working as a business coach in the Incubator.

How did your journey within the startup industry begin?
I’ve always been fascinated by people that have a vision and want to change things for the better. I visited Minc a few years ago and really liked the vibe and atmosphere back then, so what's a better place to work at than Minc in order to be a part of this world!

What’s the best thing about coaching?
As a coach, you get to meet so many passionate and interesting people. The best thing is to be involved from the start, to follow the progress and witness the success of the companies!

What qualities do you believe are important for an entrepreneur to possess?
Having a curious mindset, focus and endurance are some qualities that I believe are important!

What do you like to do during your spare time?
I like to read and cook pasta, and then I also run to be able to cook pasta! When reading, I like non-fiction where I can develop and learn new things -- I recommend Atomic Habits by James Clear, a book about building good habits and breaking bad ones!

I've recently moved into a new apartment in Rörsjöstaden and like to spend a lot of my spare time trying out new restaurants. Malmö really is a city for foodies and has a rich selection of restaurants -- so far I've really enjoyed Dal Sud for napolian pizza, Osteria Di L'a for pasta and Papi, at Saluhallen... Also for pasta!
