We're excited to welcome Julia Ekberg as Minc's new Business Coach. With a rich background in global investment and a passion for supporting entrepreneurs, Julia's down-to-earth approach makes her a perfect fit for Minc. She is ready to help every entrepreneur thrive on their unique journey.
Julia, could you tell us a bit about your professional background?
I started my career in economics, and after spending some time abroad I moved on to supporting Swedish companies expand internationally. After a few years, I shifted my focus towards investments in developing countries, helping companies grow into established businesses. What I've loved most, though, is working directly with entrepreneurs—they're the real heroes in my stories.
What made you decide to join us at Minc?
I’ve always admired Minc’s commitment to supporting startups. The first time I visited, I could literally feel the energy and passion in the air—it was contagious! Minc is a place where you can see ideas evolve into real-world businesses, and I knew I wanted to be a part of that.
Have you faced any big challenges in your career?
Absolutely. A memorable one was this one time in Singapore. I was supposed to accompany important investor meetings with my team, but suddenly, I was on my own; my colleagues were unexpectedly ill. Standing at the door of that conference room, I felt a mix of nerves and determination. But I thought, "You know what? I've got this." Stepping in there alone was intimidating, but as the meeting progressed, I felt empowered. That day taught me that I'm fully capable of rising to the occasion, all on my own.
What are you looking forward to in your new role here?
I'm excited to connect one-on-one with entrepreneurs, helping them map out their paths to success. I'm here to guide and support you, whether that means crafting a business strategy or connecting with the right investors. Seeing an idea grow into a thriving business is incredibly rewarding, and I can't wait to be part of that process here at Minc.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not coaching?
I love spending time with my family and seeing the world through my kids’ eyes—they teach me so much about joy and discovery.
I have a unique hobby that might surprise you—I'm really into maps! Whenever someone mentions a place, even if I have a rough idea where it is, I feel the need to look it up on a map. I just love exploring the world through maps, discovering details and picturing how everything connects.
