With a new cohort of seven promising teams, Haven is back for the second time as a part of Malmö’s support ecosystem for game developers. Minc is proud to be part of the initiative, helping build the business foundations behind tomorrow’s most exciting games.
Seven new game studios have been accepted to the second edition of Haven, the Malmö-based support program for early-stage game developers. The program is run by Game Habitat and Minc, and after a successful pilot last year, it’s now an established part of the regional startup ecosystem. The selected studios have been chosen based on a combination of commercial potential, artistic potential, team ambition, and diversity representation. Just like last year, the final lineup reflects a broad mix of voices, backgrounds, and game concepts—something we believe is key to pushing the industry forward. At Minc, we’ve helped shape the structure of the program and will support the teams with practical business advice throughout the fall. While Game Habitat brings deep knowledge of the games industry, our focus is on areas like funding, company-building, and helping teams turn their creative ideas into viable businesses.
“We meet very talented creators who know how to make great games. Our job is to help them build companies around those ideas that last, grow, and have an impact,” says Julia Ekberg, Business Coach at Minc.
The program runs from September to December and includes a series of workshops led by experienced professionals from the regional games scene, as well as continuous access to advisors and peer support. It’s a space where creative ideas meet business strategy—and where early-stage teams get the tools they need to move forward.Haven is part of a growing movement to strengthen Malmö’s position as a global hub for game development. The games industry is one of the region’s most dynamic sectors, and by supporting new and diverse teams, we’re helping to shape what comes next.
