Help us grow Malmö's startup scene - comms intern needed!

Minc helps early-stage startups grow to a point where they’re ready to take on the world. We believe tech and innovation is where it’s at, and we’re currently on a mission to attract the world’s best entrepreneurs and investors to Minc in Malmö.

We’re already making progress. Previously this year The Nordic Web revealed that Malmö has attracted the third most venture capital in all of Scandinavia, only behind tech giants Stockholm and Copenhagen (that's right - we surpassed both Oslo and Helsinki!), our accelerator Fast Track Malmö was recently named the best in Sweden, and heavyweights such as Apple have acquired companies that developed here at Minc.

Still, not everyone knows about the great things we get up to here at Minc, nor exactly how phenomenal of a startup city Malmö is. We need someone to help us spread the word. We want international entrepreneurs, investors and the tech community at large to know that Malmö is the best place in the world to come set up your next venture.

Can you help?

We're looking for someone super confident with great writing skills to join us. You'll be devising strategies and putting them into practice straight away - no photocopying, coffee-making or filing here.

Your tasks will include:
- Doing research for PR campaigns
- Developing our blog series
- Organising high profile events
- Developing content for our social channels

You don't need to have done all of these things before, the only thing you do need is excellent writing skills and bags of confidence. And if you have genuine enthusiasm for Malmö’s startup scene - all the better. This will be decent work experience with a friendly team and a mentor that will take care of you.

Required skills:

  • Initiative and problem-solving - You turn to Google before your supervisor and like finding solutions to problems

  • Time management - You’ll be working against deadlines, so being able to manage your time is important

  • Excellent communication - You're a confident communicator, and you know how to get your point across clearly and concisely

  • Driven - You’re a driven individual with a willingness to learn and grow

  • A team player - We're a close-knit, friendly team. Enthusiasm and a positive attitude goes down well

  • A great writer - There's a lot of writing in this internship. Excellent written English and Swedish is a must

  • Organised - Things move quickly here. We need someone who can keep tabs on their workload and hit deadlines

What you'll get

  • Training and mentoring from experts in their fields

  • The opportunity to run your own projects

  • The chance to make a real impact in how we run our PR operations - we want to learn from you, too

  • And of course, as much coffee as you can drink, invites to an endless number of AWs, and Team Breakfast every Thursday!

The internship starts in January 2018 and will last for at least 12 weeks - though we’d love it if you could stay on a bit longer. The internship is unpaid and we reckon it’s probably part of your degree in PR and/or marketing.

Are you the one? Send your CV and cover letter - in English - to before December 1, adressing the cover letter to Sandy Errestad. Make sure your cover letter explains why you're interested in doing an internship at Minc. First round telephone interviews will be conducted the following week.
